Designer’s Impact On Product Outcome

There is a lot of buzz going around about sustainable, eco, and green design. Whether they realize it or not, designers are responsible for implementing sustainability. From the beginning designers have full control of the outcome of a design. They make a difference in many ways.

For example, the simple redesign of a cereal box can save shelf space, affect shipment and storage, and allow fewer delivery trips. This in turn results in less fuel consumption, generating sustainability. All of these outcomes resulted from a simple change in design.
