Day 3: Design Refinement – Pittsburgh Design Competition

We’re in the final days of the martini glass design competition sponsored by the Pittsburgh Glass Center and Boyd & Blair Potato Vodka. For Day 3, the Bright Innovation design team has been narrowing down our ideas into 3 final concepts.  For the group review process, we pinned up our sketches and organized them into groups of similar features. Each designer talked  through their ideas and as a group concepts were evaluated.

As the team begins to move forward to our final round of design and development, each designer will be pursuing his or her own concept. Some ideas incorporate materials that maintain the thermal management of the martini (keeping  it chilled).  Other designs utilize repurposed glass products and are transformed into an elegant yet efficient design.

We have a day and a half to finalize each of the designs, work them into CAD and pull everything together for tomorrow afternoon’s deadline.  At the end of the competition we’ll be posting our final concepts entered in the competition!
